AFRICAN MILK TREE ‘RUBRA’
Euphorbia trigona ‘Rubra’ is also known commonly as African Milk Tree ‘Rubra’, which refers to the red colouring and milky sap that is released when the plant is cut.
It has small, short-lived leaves that develop along the stem ridges alongside thorns. Thorns grow in pairs and the single, individual leaves form between them.
The Euphorbia Rubra, African Milk Tree, is an unique succulent that slowly grows into a tall plant perfect for a bright spot that needs something special. Thick stalks of green with light green streaking pattern have 3 sides, creating a 3d triangle shaped trunk. The showy red leaves grow on the ridges of these stems, in between spines, forming into a geometrical-looking oddity of a plant. Flowers are small, discrete, cup-shaped and yellow-white in colour, and do not typically appear on potted specimens.
- Size of the plant: 6 inches, blooming size.

- FLOWERING SEASON: It produces yellowish white flowers. This cactus blooms in late winter or early spring
- WATERING: Indoor plants will need even less water than an outdoor plant because they are exposed to less sunshine. Keep in mind that overwatering is basically the only way in which you can kill a cactus. So, allow the soil to completely dry out before watering this plant.
