Description:

Parodia is a genus of cactus that range from small globose plants to 1 m tall columnar plants. They are deeply ribbed and spiny, with single flowers. Some species produce offsets at the base. They are popular in cultivation but must be grown indoors where temperatures fall below 10 °C.

Parodia (Notocactus) mammulosa is highly variable and differs considerably in the form and arrangement of the spines, stems, ribs, and flower color.

• Keep in mind that overwatering is basically the only way in which you can kill a cactus. So, allow the soil to completely dry out before watering this plant.

Repotting:

This plant needs plenty of space for its roots use our tall pots, repotting should be done every other year or when the it has outgrown its pot.

Sunlight:

This plant tolerates bright situations which encourages flowering and heavy spine production, but is likely to suffer from sun scorch or stunted growth if over exposed to direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day in summer. It grows well with filtered sunlight or afternoon shade.
