General Care for Haworthiopsis coarctata
Haworthiopsis coarctata is the perfect succulent to grow indoors. It is also great for use in rock and fairy gardens that receive plenty of shade. Due to its small size, it can be grown in miniature gardens until it reaches maturity.
Flowering and Fragrance
The plants produce flower clusters in the summer, but the flowers are not showy. They appear in a cluster from the top of a 14″-inch stem growing from the center of the rosette.
It grows best in bright light and warm, dry climates, but it can tolerate partial shade outdoors. Indoors, place the plant on a windowsill that allows the plant to get lots of sunlight throughout the day, without constant direct sunlight – no full sun!
In most regions, a west-facing or east-facing window should offer optimal sunlight for the plant.
NOTE: If the leaves turn white or yellow, the plant is getting too much sun. If the green color slowly fades, it’s not getting enough sun.
Watering and Feeding
The Haworthiopsis coarctata doesn’t need frequent watering, except during the summer. Water the plant evenly throughout the warmer months, as this is when the plant achieves most of its growth.
Soil and Transplanting
Grow the plant in succulent or cactus potting soil mix. Haworthiopsis coarctata needs fast-draining soil. Always use a pot with a drainage hole.
- size of the plant: 5 inches, blooming size.
- well rooted, healthy plant
- contents: succulent-1, potting mix, plant tag-1, pot-1.
- FERTILIZER: Enrich the soil using a fertilizer rich in potassium and phosphorous.( bonemeal powder/BASACOTE FERTILIZER)
- WATERING: Indoor plants will need even less water than an outdoor plant because they are exposed to less sunshine. Keep in mind that overwatering is basically the only way in which you can kill a succulent. So, allow the soil to completely dry out before watering this plant.
